Katzie Nelson developed a lifelong passion for photography when she realized she could “reflect another person’s beauty back to them.” What started as snapshots on coffee dates with friends turned into senior photos, travel photography, conferences, and ultimately, weddings. She established her business in 2014.

Several years later, while dating Ben, Ben asked to try Katzie’s backup camera at a wedding. She was struck by the powerful image he captured of the couple offering a bouquet to Our Lady, and Katzie began teaching Ben the technical side of photography so they could shoot together.

Now married (their anniversary is the Feast of the Sacred Heart!), Katzie and Ben officially work as a photography team, eager to capture the intimate and emotional details of their couples’ days and to share the joy and fruits they’ve gained in their own relationship.

From Katzie and Ben:

Our mission in life is to preserve the legacy and love of others and to glorify God through the gifts He has given us. In our career as photographers, we are invited into the most intimate moments of a person's life. We celebrate all of their happy milestones from graduating high school, getting engaged, saying I do, and growing a family. We don't take a single moment for granted because we've been honored and humbled to also capture the legacy of others in times of trial and suffering. In those moments, we revisit their photographs to remember the best of their life, their light, and their legacy.

The world wants to tell you that conflict, trials, and suffering are the last thing you want in life and will attempt to convince you they are not compatible with marriage. Yet Christ's life shows us that as Christians we will encounter each of them. He offers us a way to have them redeemed in love and in His ultimate sacrifice of laying His life down for each and every one of us on the Cross.

The hard parts of marriage are the moments we encounter wounds from our past and the brokenness of our humanity. Conflict, trials, and suffering we experience in marriage are opportunities to more closely conform our hearts to heart of Christ. They're invitations to change our perspectives, to grow in humility, and to lean on God instead of ourselves.

We pray that every couple truly give of themselves to their spouse. That they discover the healing power of love and the forgiving mercy of God through their spouse. We hope they enjoy and delight in the companionship of the person they've chosen to spend their life with, that they cherish the good times full of happy memories, remain open to life, and recognize the sacramental graces the Lord has prepared for each of them in marriage.
